College For Every Student

Welcome

College For Every Student (CFES) is a nonprofit organization committed to raising the academic aspirations and performance of underserved youth so that they can prepare for, gain access to, and succeed in college.

Dozens of recent studies and reports all confirm the same bleak news: America is losing ground because there are not enough well-educated young people to take on the jobs a 21st century global economy demands. Particularly disheartening is the fact that the fastest-growing population coming through America's public schools is low-income children. Our economy, democracy, and quality of life demand that we dramatically increase the college-going and graduation rates of underserved youth, so that they might provide the skilled workforce and leadership of tomorrow.

Since its founding in 1991, CFES has worked with 380 public schools to help thousands of underserved students in grades K-12 take steps toward college. The CFES approach emphasizes mentoring, active school-college partnerships, and student leadership programs that help students improve academic performance and attendance, develop personal and academic goals, and ultimately ensure that they graduate from high school and attend and succeed in college. Over the last two years, 96 percent of CFES high school seniors have gone on to college.
